In 2023, Zuza Jasinska (vocals), Shanice Ruby Bennet (bass), and Käthe Johanning (keyboards) formed SO SORRY; Lenny Rehm (drums) joined the band a year later. It is a collective band in which members make joint decisions about the sound of their music, which songs to include in their repertoire, and how to present themselves to the outside world. This is perhaps the best way to explain SO SORRY’s equally emotional, extroverted, and sweeping sound clash, with which this Berlin-based quartet has recently made a name for itself.
Above all, it is this laid-back yet powerful combination of contemporary jazz, alternative pop, and R&B that allows SO SORRY to captivate audiences at their concerts. And then the music also reveals the rebellious spirit of hip-hop or the soulful lyrics of European folklore. With increasing success, as evidenced by SO SORRY receiving the Sparda Jazz Award and the Young Munich Jazz Prize last year.
