Born in Helsinki in 1980, Matti Nives is the founder and creative head of We Jazz, one of the most exciting European labels at the moment, which has released the latest album by Otis Sandsjö’s Y-Otis, who can be heard on the same evening at Cologne Jazzweek. In addition to groundbreaking releases, Nives produces the quarterly magazine of the same name and runs his own record shop in Helsinki. He also hosts a regular jazz programme on Radio Helsinki. He will be putting together one of his legendary DJ sets in Cologne from his extensive eclectic record collection.
