DaughterDaughter is the name of a collaborative quartet featuring four improvisational artists from Oslo, Berlin, Cologne, and Amsterdam. Amalie Dahl, an alto saxophonist born in Denmark and based in Oslo, brings a unique and personal approach to improvisational music that is both free and tonally grounded, often distilling her energetic playing into emotionally charged sounds. The same can be said of tenor saxophonist Camila Nebbia, who was born in Buenos Aires and lives in Berlin. In her projects, she explores themes such as identity, migration, and integrity through haunting, urgent improvisational music. Cologne-based Elisabeth Coudoux has developed a distinctive personal style on her instrument, the cello, combining, among other things, textural elements with melodic ones. And South Korean-born, Amsterdam-based drummer Sun-Mi Hong feels most at home when her nuanced drumming finds a balance between precise beats and open pulse.
