Cologne and Amsterdam’s thriving music scenes are just a stone’s throw apart: two cities where the uniquely fresh voices of Fabian Dudek and Chaerin Im have long been an essential part of the scene. The saxophonist and the pianist are united not only by their insatiable exploration of the acoustic possibilities of their instruments, but also by their curious expansion of their sonic spectrum through the use of electronics. As a duo, the two musicians create a contemporary, tranquil sound characterized by subtle interaction and a lingering resonance. For this concert, they’ll be joined by special guest Chiquitamagic, whose music blends Colombian cumbia with techno, funk, soul, and hip-hop.
