Companion Songs

Guitarist and singer Marco Mlynek and drummer Max Andrzejewski have known each other since their teenage years when they made their first attempts as musicians together in the rehearsal room. Even though their musical paths diverged afterwards, they remained close friends. When the world went into lockdown in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, with everyone thrown back on themselves, Mlynek recorded the first sketches for the later “Companion Songs” – like logbook entries without a project goal, like songs as companions, according to the principle: “First thought, best thought.” These sketches then went back and forth between him and Andrzejewski until they were finalised as “Companion Songs” – with angular, interlaced guitar sounds, with influences from math rock and kraut rock, honest, energetic, authentic sounding.
