Jazz is dead
Why “Jazz is dead”? A campaign that polarizes and inspires
In our latest advertising campaign “Jazz is dead”, we make a provocative claim – not to deny jazz, but to revive it. In doing so, we are continuing the language of our 2018 campaign for the Jazzstadt Köln website. With this provocative statement, we want to attract attention and stimulate a broad discussion. The aim is to shed light on the incredible diversity and constant evolution of jazz.
Jazz is anything but dead. It is constantly transforming, absorbing new influences and crossing cultural and musical boundaries. Our campaign invites you to explore this dynamic and rediscover what jazz can be today. By deliberately provoking, we want to reignite the passion for jazz and show that its soul is more alive than ever.
Join us on this journey of discovery and experience how diverse and vibrant jazz really is in the modern musical landscape. Let’s celebrate together the stories, the artists and the sounds that prove that jazz is not only alive, but also constantly being reinvented. The concept and realization comes from Patrick Essex.
We designed this year’s campaign with photos by the four artists SALOMEA aka Rebekka Ziegler, Christian Lillinger, Isaiah Collier and Matthias Schriefl.
