Following their internationally acclaimed trio debut ‘Molecular Soul’, which earned the band the New German Jazz Prize in 2017 and led to international concert engagements, ‘Catalyst’ is now the long-awaited second release, once again featuring exclusively original compositions by the band leader. The three energetic and sought-after musicians from the renowned Cologne scene around guitarist Philipp Brämswig create fascinating soundscapes that transcend stylistic boundaries and delight themselves and their listeners with their intoxicating interplay. In addition to a natural virtuosity, it is the sometimes sensitive, sometimes gripping interaction that has become the trademark of the band. Drawing on a wide variety of influences, Brämswig creates his own version of modern jazz, combining atmospheric elements with rock, intellect and groove, as well as the melodic with the abstract.
