Line-up release with live music – afterparty at Groove Attack (right next door)
When Keshav Purushotham meets his father Ramesh Shotham in a duo with drummer Niklas Schneider, the result is an unusual dialog across generations. The world-famous percussionist and WDR Jazz Prize winner meets his son’s kaleidoscopic sound thinking – known for Keshavara, a project between Krautpop, dub and psychedelic audio cinema.
In this constellation, Ramesh Shotham’s polyrhythmic precision meets the floating sounds of Keshavara. Structure and openness, experience and experiment – a musical conversation with an open outcome.
Directly afterwards: DJ set by C:Mone and Retrogott at Groove Attack!
C:Mone and Retrogott know each other from Stecken, the Cologne club that has been a meeting place for music nerds, DJs and enthusiasts for years. At the Cologne Jazzweek Kick Off at Groove Attack, they will be at the turntables together – B2B, analog, no frills. From hip hop and soul to afro beat and house – with jazz as the common thread. Two DJs who know what they’re doing – and why.
The concert takes place in cooperation with Groove Attack.
