SALOMEA

The music of the SALOMEA quartet is more than just the sum of the various components that make it up. The German-American namesake and vocalist Rebekka Salomea Ziegler, keyboardist Yannis Anft, electric bassist Oliver Lutz and drummer Leif Berger prefer to handle the different genres and genres of their intoxicating music with such flexibility that the boundaries between them always remain permeable so that any harmonic or rhythmic limitations can be ignored. This four-piece from Cologne follows a very specific idea and concept of aesthetically unbounded music, in which hip-hop and pop, funk, soul and jazz are naturally mixed with aspects of a hip club culture. The basis is formed by the almost breakbeat grooves of bass and drums, which are often overlaid by the ethereal soundscapes of Anft’s keyboards, topped off by the lush melos of Ziegler’s vocals.
