Code of conduct
Version from August 29, 2024
Cologne Jazzweek is a festival organized by musicians for musicians and music lovers. We do everything we can to create a positive and inspiring atmosphere and ask you to support us in this.
Cologne Jazzweek offers a platform where we want to overcome the barriers of language, origin and class through music. As a festival, we respect diversity of opinion and freedom, both on and off stage.
These are the values that guide our festival team and that we want to share for a respectful coexistence and presuppose for our events:
Respect and tolerance
– Respectful treatment – regardless of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age or physical ability. Discrimination, harassment or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
– Freedom of expression: both on and off the stage. However, this ends where it is misused for anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, racist or in any way inhumane views.
– Mutual support: We promote a culture of mutual support. Everyone should feel welcome, safe and valued.
Responsibility and safety
– Act responsibly: Be aware of your surroundings and take responsibility for your behavior. Leave venues clean and respect the privacy and property of others.
– Safety: If you have any safety concerns or incidents that violate this Code of Conduct, please contact a member of the festival team immediately. We take such reports very seriously and will deal with them as quickly as possible within our capacity.
Communication and cooperation
– Open communication: We value open dialog and respectful communication. Feedback should be given in a constructive and friendly manner. We clarify misunderstandings through direct, calm and respectful discussions.
– Collaboration: Our team does everything in its power to ensure that artists
a professional and pleasant stay. We ask artists and visitors alike to support us in this endeavor.
Behavior during the events
– Respect for artists: Please refrain from talking during the music and keep photography and filming to a minimum.
– Dealing with team members: Our festival team is working hard to make the festival run smoothly. Please treat them with the same respect you would expect from them.
