The American trio Goldings/Bernstein/Stewart is a band of friends who are roughly the same age and therefore have a similar musical socialisation. Each of the three has an active past behind them and has already worked with outstanding musicians. Organist Larry Goldings and drummer Bill Stewart played in Maceo Parker’s band for a long time. From this saxophonist they learned to entertain the audience with funk and soul and to make them dance. For more than 20 years, Goldings and Stewart have been playing in a trio with guitarist Peter Bernstein. As a trio, they bring to the stage an unconventionally humorous, energetic, powerful jazz that is rooted equally in the tradition and the present of a contemporary music.
